924 Invited – High Time to Appeal Express Entry in British Columbia

On March 16, IRCC (Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada) held the 218th Express Entry (EE) draw in Canada (with a provincial nomination certificate) and welcomed 924 people to apply for permanent residency. Till now, in 2022, the country has held six PNP draws.

If you want to immigrate through PNP and Express Entry in British Columbia, there is yet another fantastic opportunity to seize. In this blog, we have covered all of the information provided by IRCC on the recent draw. Continue reading to find out more.

Important Updates of 218th Express Entry Draw in Canada

A few days ago, Canada announced its immigration levels plan for 2022-2024, in which they sought to invite 431,645 newcomers this year. It is an upsurge of almost 20,000 than Canada’s previous record-breaking goal. Therefore, it is going to be the highest record in Canadian history.

Canada intends to target 241,850 economic immigrants among these newcomers, which includes:

Streams Number of Immigrants
●       Federal Skilled Trades (FST)

●       Federal Skilled Workers (FSW)

●       Canadian Experience Class (CEC)

55,900
Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) 83,500

However, in the recent EE draw on March 16, IRCC only invited candidates from the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP). To qualify, they have set a minimum cut-off of 754 Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) points.

Usually, PNP candidates get an immediate 600-point bonus when nominated, so the score range is significantly higher. For that reason, they must score at least 154 points without being selected.

Here is an overview of the latest Express Entry (EE) draw.

  • EE draw number: 218
  • Date: March 16, 2022
  • Invited candidates: 924
  • Program: PNP
  • Minimum CRS score: 754

However, qualified applicants have around two months to apply for PR (permanent residency) in Canada.

So, are you planning to apply for this opportunity? Look for complete procedures? Here it is:

How to Apply for PNP Through Express Entry in British Columbia?

If you plan to immigrate to British Columbia through PNP under Express Entry, here are the two ways to apply. Such as

Contact the Province/Territory and Request a Nomination Via Their EE System

If they agree to nominate you, you must build an Express Entry profile (or update the existing profile) and prove that you have been nominated. You receive a nomination confirmation message through your EE account, which you must accept electronically.

Make a EE Profile to Show Your Interest in the Provinces

If a province gives you a “notification of interest” in your account, you can ask them directly if you want to apply under their EE program. Once they select you as a nominee, they again send you a message to your account, which you must accept electronically.

Therefore, in both cases, you must have an Express Entry profile. So, the first thing you need to do is set up an IRCC secure account with an EE profile. If you fulfill the Express Entry criteria, you will be approved into the Express Entry pool of applicants.

However, if a province has already consented to nominate you, you must confirm that you have a nomination in your Express Entry profile. You need to provide the following to get your nomination accepted from their side:

  • Jobseeker validation code
  • Express Entry profile number

When they approve, you will receive a notification in your account asking you to accept or decline the nomination.
